A very special lingerie party and bachelorette party

My sister got married a couple of weeks ago and on September 11 I threw her a bachelorette party combined with a lingerie shower.  It was so fun.  We spent the day in our cabana by the pool at the Sunset Marquis hotel in LA.  After that we had a little lingerie shower in the hotel suite before we headed out to dinner.  I did quite a few projects for the event!  I need to work on my photography skills.

Invitation-  It is a lace corset with rhinestone accents.  To get to the invite, you unlace the corset and open each side to reveal the invite in the middle.  I will add a picture of the middle tonight.
Paper cones- I made these to put homemade caramel popcorn in.  I got the idea from another blog.  I filled a crystal bowl with crystals to stand the cones in.

I made these mini votives with ribbon and rhinestones as little trinkets for the attendees.

I wrapped these white candles with ribbon to match them to the black and white theme.  I large black buttons for interest. There are close ups of the candles below.

I wrapped ribbon and rhinestones to these plain white boxes and put the votives in the boxes.

These are my paper wrapped mints.  I got this idea from another blog as well.  They look like match books but have mints instead.

Topiary.  Love these.  They are made from cupcake wrappers.  Another idea I borrowed and modified.  These are easy but very very time consuming.

I painted clay pots white and added ribbon and buttons.  I used fake snow in the pots (I couldn't find anything else white!).

Close up of the large candle.  This is wrapped with a velvet damask paper.

The wreath!  Love this one.  I used the same technique as for the topiaries.  This was even more time consuming but well worth it.  I got wooden letters to personalize the wreath with my sisters initials and painted them shiny black.

The table at the shower dawned in crystal and silver serving platters.  On the left there are fruit kabobs and fruit dip and hummus with pita chips.  On the right are white chocolate pretzel sticks accented with dark chocolate sprinkles.  I used a flower vase filled with white crinkle paper and accented with a wide black ribbon to hold the pretzel sticks.  In the back are cucumber sandwiches.  I had these at my wedding and just love them.  I made little signs for some and used cucumber peel to decorate the rest.  There is a close up of that below.  In the very back is a cheese and cracker platter.  A nice little pre-dinner appetizer spread!

We weren't supposed to have a party in our room, so the wreath on the door wasn't a good idea.  I found a great place for it on the leaner mirror though!

Welcome to Kristin's Korner.... and my LOVE chipboard album

Hi and welcome to Kristin's Korner.  I started this blog to share my love for creating anything and everything! I am a lawyer by day, so creating is definitely my outlet!  My favorite thing to make is invitations, but I also love making party decorations, home decor, scrapbooks, cards, paintings, signs, ETC!  If it is cute, I will try to make it!  If you ever see anything on my blog that you just have to have, please feel free to email me and I will see what I can do!

For my FIRST post, I thought it was appropriate to share my FIRST scrapbook!  I made this back in the spring for as a wedding gift for my friend Courtney.  I had some help from my friends Donna and Heather as I had never created a scrapbook of any kind, let alone a chipboard album.  I found this chipboard scrapbook to be SO much fun to make.  Courtney's colors were mostly black and white, so I coordinated the album to match and threw in a little gray/silver for good measure.

The Finished Product

L- Love that Wedding Memories cut out.

Back of the L.  I added the solid gray paper, ribbon, and velvet scroll for accent.

O- I used a bridal shower theme for this page.  I used rubber stamps for the Best Wishes and hearts.  I added white buttons, stickers, and ribbons as well.

The back of the O.  I added accent paper, ribbon, stickers, and hand beaded lace (thanks Mom).  This is for the bridesmaid pictures.

V-  This is for the "getting ready" pictures.  I separated this page into 4 parts using ribbon.  Then I added stickers for Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, and Something Blue so she can put a picture of each one.

The back of the V.  This was intended for pictures during the ceremony.  It is accented with silver stickers that say Mr. and Mrs. and I Do.

The E. This is accented with handstamped papers and stickers.

Back of the E and back of the book.  Adorable paper.  She can put pictures here or leave it plain.

Here is a close up of the rings tied with ribbon..I love me some pretty ribbon!

Some close ups of the details...sorry the first is sideways.
